I gave birth to my first son at Sunrise hospital
when I was 17 years old and single. I showed up
at the hospital dilated to six at 9:00 am and my
doctor didn't show up for my son's delivery at
10:52 am (He was playing golf.) They took my son
away from me to put him in a warmer and didn't
let me breast feed him for several hours. Being
alone with no emotional support and many other
little things like rude nurses, made my
experience was so terrible that I never wanted
to give birth in a hospital again. So, when I
found myself pregnant for a second time at age
22 I began searching for an alternative.
Kellie was recommended to me after attending
Cheryl Pritchett's grand daughter's birth.
(I believe Lydi had also been Cheryl's midwife
years ago.)
Kellie traveled all the way to Pahrump, where I
live, several times: for prenatal care and for
my son's birth on January 3, 2003. Kellie
arrived at my house at 5:00 am to induce my
labor naturally (since my son was 2 weeks late)
and Kellie helped my labor progress so that my
son's birth was swift. My son Larky White III
was born at 12:45 pm. He was a healthy, 9 and
1/2 lbs. It was so nice to be at home where I
was comfortable and where I knew I was loved!
The major difference between Kellie and an OBGYN
is that Kellie really cares. My Husband and I
were blessed to have found Kellie and now our
son 2 years old.
Thank you Kellie for helping us bring him into
this world!
