We believe in using the least invasive forms to diagnose except where there is clear indication. We emphasize nutrition as the foundation of good care. We participate in continuing education, peer review, and current OSHA guidelines. We also provide waterbirth services.

Philosophy...
A low risk mother is in a physical state that has been proven to be advantageous and worth protecting. Protection for the low-risk mother would be non-intervention and support. The ideal state of low-risk is altered and degenerates with each intervention. She becomes higher risk. She forfeits non-intervention in a hospital setting because the belief system requires aggressive diagnostic intervention.

Compelled to explore the subject after the delivery of her first child, actress Ricki Lake recruits filmmaker Abby Epstein to question the way American women have babies.
